Slow morning. Nothing on the trail cameras had prepared me for how little would move. Around [time] a nuthatch started working the trunk of my tree, upside down, headfirst, completely unbothered that I was four feet away.
I thought about Matthew 6, the birds of the air, how they do not sow or reap and get fed anyway. I have read that passage plenty of times sitting in a heated room. It reads different when there is an actual bird eight inches from your boot making a living off the bark.
